Short version: your location never leaves your phone, and Statecount collects no data about you. Effective October 12, 2026.
What Statecount stores, and where
Statecount stores your day records (which state or country each day counts for, and whether the record came from your phone's location, was entered by you or was edited by you), the day limits you set, and, if you use automatic logging, the location points behind each automatic day: coordinates, time, accuracy and time zone.
All of it is stored on your iPhone. If you turn on iCloud sync in Settings, it also syncs through your own private iCloud database so it appears on your other devices. That database belongs to your Apple Account. We can't see it, and Statecount has no server of its own.
Location
Automatic logging uses iOS's visit monitoring and significant-location-change monitoring. Each location is matched to a US state or a country on your iPhone, using map boundaries built into the app (public-domain data from the US Census Bureau and Natural Earth). Statecount never sends your location anywhere: no server, no geocoding service, no analytics. Manual mode doesn't use location at all.
What we collect
Nothing. Statecount has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. In the App Store's privacy labels this is listed as "Data Not Collected".
Deleting your data
Delete any day from its day screen. Settings › Delete All Data removes every day, location record and limit on your iPhone, and from your iCloud if sync is on. Deleting the app removes everything stored on that iPhone.
Purchases
Statecount Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment and tells the app only whether Pro is active. We never see your payment details, name or email.
Alerts and reports
Limit alerts and reminders are scheduled on your iPhone, never sent from a server. The PDF and CSV report are created on your iPhone and go only where you send them.
Children
Statecount doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
